Malcolm Starnes, 80, of 606 S. Walnut St, died Saturday afternoon in Veterans Hospital in Danville, Ill.  He retired from RR Donnelley & Sons in 1883 after 35 years and had been a resident of Crawfordsville since 1947.  He was a member of Crawfordsville American Legion Post 72 and Calvary Chapel as well as a 1947 graduate of Crawfordsville High School.

Mr. Starnes was born Dec 25, 1925 at Waynetown to Harry and Mary Long Starnes. Survivors include three brothers, Wendell of Rt 1, Crawfordsville, Tenny of Iverness, Fla and Charles of Rt 2, Crawfordsville; three sisters, Mrs. Myron (Betsy) Fielder, Cuba City, Wis; Mrs. Ernest (JoAn) French of Colfax and Mrs. James (Lindy) Wooldridge of Greenville, Miss and an aunt, Mrs. Floyd (June) Campbell of Lafayette. An infant brother and his parents preceded him in death.

Graveside services are set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with Rev. George Markey officiating. There will be no calling. Thomas Funeral Home Waynetown is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to Calvary Chapel.
